STRATA
Stockholm Craft week | Smedjan, Färgfabriken

01.10.2026

STRATA grew out of a year of artistic research at Research Lab CRAFT! at Konstfack, led by Maja Gunn. Over the course of the year, eight artists followed their individual practices while sharing a space for questions, experiments and exchange. Their first exhibition was presented at Platform Gallery in April 2026.

The publication STRATA gathers a selection of works and traces from this year of research, allowing parts of the process to take another form making the book both an archive and a continuation of the work.

Its release at Smedjan, Färgfabriken, consisted of collective readings and conversations, in collaboration with Färgfabriken, Stockholm Craft Week and Konstfack.

Artists: Anna Pehrsson, Helena Tuulikki Lundahl, Kristin Winander, Maria Östblom, Matilda Hariz Svenson, Olga Olivares, Salome Kappelin and Sunna Örlygsdottir.

Editor: Adrianne Dalton
Graphic Design: Hai Fang

RITUALS
As part of Stockholm Design week

07.02.2025

Vocalist and producer Liselotte Östblom and artist Salome Kappelin have collaborated since 2020, often creating in response to one another’s practices. During Stockholm Design Week 2025, they entered into an intensive four-day collaboration in which sound, image and material were developed together from the outset.

The work began with ritual—a subject both artists had previously explored independently. Working on site, they gathered sounds, images and gestures, allowing the space itself to become part of the process. Rather than illustrating a predetermined idea of ritual, they asked what kind of ritual might emerge from this particular place, body and moment.

For biblical scholar Dru Johnson, ritual is not simply an expression of something already known. “We practice rites to know.” Through embodied participation, ritual can make perceptible something that could not otherwise be seen.

RITUALS explores this threshold between the ordinary and the eternal: the possibility of creating a space in time in which something beyond time might become perceptible.
